I recently bought a new computer thinking i would be able to run all the games i had. Apparently i was wrong, hopefully someone knows a trick to allow me to play command and conquer 3 on this computer. My specs are: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Edition AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core processor 5200+ 2.7 GHz 4GB RAM and NVIDIA GeFORCE 9400 GT . I am able to install the game with no problems, but when i try to run it, i keep getting an error message that says.. "Please make sure you have DirextX9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that you video card meets the minimun requirments, and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel." I almost certain that i have directx9.0 installed correctly but im not sure what the exact requirments are for my video card. I would be surprised if it is not good enough to run this game...

    Please help!!!

    Jake

C&C3 is not designed to run on a 64-bit system.

I agree on the thought that you already have Directx9 installed, but I think it's because you run a 64-bit system, that the game won't work properly.

I'm not 100% sure if my information is reliable, so you may want to do a search for it on Google or wait for some other answers, here.

I got vista 64 bit, and the game works fine here . (And I got a 'weaker' PC -> slower CPU and an older version of Graphic Card)

You can do a test on the requirements here: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

    - Just select the game from the list.

    - Press the 'Can you Run-It' button.

    - Wait a moment.

    - User Acces Control might ask you to allow the test to be ran - accept.

    - And check if your system meets the minimum requirements.

To check which version of DirectX you have:

Select start and enter this in the searchbar: "dxdiag", without the quotes, and press enter. Now you get some PC information. And the last sentence on the page is:

    Direct-X version: DirectX 'number'

Some other things you can try are:

    - Install DirectX 10 instead of 9?

    - Download & install the latest graphic card drivers from the site of the manufacturer.

    - Run the game his .exe file as administrator.

    - Search, download & install the latest patch for the game, if any.

    - Eventually you can try running the game in XP compatibility.

    - Or reinstall the game.
