So I don't know if everyone using Win7 is aware of Problem Steps Recorder or not, but this is a fantastic tool that I was shown in a demo by a Windows Guru that works with me from time to time.

Problem Steps Recorder does what it says - records steps taken by users to recreate a problem. But what is really cool about this is that it takes screenshots of what you do while highlighting where you clicked AND it also says what you did to get there (ex.- user left clicked on Start button). And when you're done recording, it creates a .mhtml file that opens in a web browser. I think this is something that all IT/support personnel should be aware of as more companies and home users migrate to Windows 7. All you would need to do is to tell people to open this, hit 'start recording,' reproduce the problem, then have them send you the file.

I made a little demo one to share, but those file types cannot be uploaded. Oh well. Just type in 'record' in the search feature and it should come up under Control Panel as 'Record steps to reproduce a problem.' After you use it, it'll show up as 'Problem Steps Recorder.' Play around with it, it's pretty snazzy

Yeah, that's a really great deal even if you want to explain people over MSN how to accomplish a certain task, even though sometimes I just use a VNC client. Well, this lets you open a file and have it do everything for you, which is a plus.
