i have a hp dv7 1232nr, running windows 7. i have all my drivers. the problem is my optical drive or moreso the discs i am using. they are philips dvd +r and philips cd-r's. I am using imgburn. the disc i burned was in Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate. It burned fine. But when attempt burn iso images in imgburn the program finishes successfully but then I try to use the successful disc and windows shows the disc a blank disc. Does it sound like a bad batch of discs or is imgburn picky about the brand of discs used?

You might try one of these to see if the issue is maybe software related. I remember when I got my first burner in '99 the software that was bundled with it would coaster anything burned faster than 2or4x (it was an 8x recorder), but when I tried a demo of different software I was able to record at the full 8x.
This is not a signature, it only looks that way because it's placed after all my posts.

I generally burn at no more than maximum speed - I reckon it gives a more reliable disk.
