Hi, is there any way to successfully mount skydrive in Windows explorer, without any third party software?

I've attempted to use mynetx's 'Connect Your SkyDrive In Windows Explorer' tutorial, but it wasn't successful.

The following error message is displayed every time, I try to mount skydrive as a 'mapped network drive':

    ---------------------------

    Windows

    ---------------------------

The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password.

To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share.

    ---------------------------

    OK

    ---------------------------

The following is listed under 'Network' in Windows explorer:
    • docs.live.net
    • docs.live.net@SSL
    • wb9rpt.docs.live.net

I've tried removing the above items from 'Network', but there is no option to delete the items.

At the moment the only way to mount skydrive in Windows explorer is mynetx's which you saw. Its easier by using third party software..

I think after adding a network you cannot delete it. There should be some option to disable the network. Try to find the network and disable it. Maybe right click and properties.

    Give your results. Good Luck

I'm not sure what you're using, but I'm on Office 2010 and I've uploaded a Powerpoint Presentation to sky drive and it has appeared in My Computer under "network location"...

Really? I also have the 2010 beta installed, but none of my SkyDrive files show up in my Computer window. There is also no entry for "Network Locations" in my Computer window. I have a "Network" button, but no SkyDrive content is there.

Having said that, I think that the OP was looking for a way to actually mount your SkyDrive, so that it was assigned a drive letter.
