It's hard to tell but your power supply is likely broken. What was the problem with the charger?

IDK it just poped and I saw smoke come out of it. What would I do if my power supply was fried

You might want to request a replacement. What broke your charger might have also broken your power supply and possibly fried your computer. Unless I'm totally wrong, any guesses out there?

What kind of computer is it? If it's a aspire netbook I'm not surprised as they have gotten known for some power issues.

I would look around the net and see if you can find anything about other people having that problem with your machine and if nothing else, calling the manufacturer.

Well then I would recommend opening the case and looking to see if you can see any physical burns/shorts or whatever.

Only do this is you feel comfortable opening your laptop and know all the proper steps to take to protect yourself as well as the laptop itself!

The problem is opening your laptop might void your warranty or any other sort of protection you might have. I would only do that at last resort. Talk to whoever owns the computer and explain the situation so they can call their manufacturer and hopefully solve the problem. When it comes to hardware failure sometimes that's the best thing to do.
