I have a problem with my memory, I have a toshiba laptop (statlite) with 1 GB of memory and my graphic card has 64 MB but when i ran windows task manager it shows less than 100 KB is free
Code:Total Physical Memory 1,023.41 MB Available Physical Memory 440.63 MB Total Virtual Memory 2.25 GB Available Virtual Memory 1.34 GB Page File Space 1.29 GB

--in this picture total is 1023 , cached is 585 and free is 10 all in MB
also when i ran dxdiag it reports that the grphic card has 318 MB

--in this picture total memory is 318
and i know that 254 MB (318-64) is alloted from the main memory
the question is how can i take some of the graphic memory back to the main memory??
*This has only happend in vista.
**I got Vista ultimate.
*** my graphic card is Name ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300 (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM).

Welcome to the forums .. well you have more then 10mb free .. vista by default cache alot of memory for better use .. so unless your laptop is slowing down to a crawl .. it's better that the OS is using the memory to effectively run your computer then not using it ..
As far as your graphics subsystem that is done in the bios

Thanks for your quick response, yes the system is crawling especially in intensive IO.
So Please if any one knows the method to reduce the graphics card memory and give it back to the main memory.

Well like i said when you first boot up your laptop you can go into the bios and change it but if it's at 64mb that is min. spec
One thing i would suggest is goto - start - run - msnconfig ( type )
disable all those things in the startup that are eating up memory also
Do you run programs like McAffee .. delete it .. it's crap and will eat memory to no end
